San Francisco Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (SFTYC) was founded in October 12, 1998 by Mr. Tseten Norbu, then the President of Tibetan Youth Congress, Central Executive Committee. SFTYC is a regional branch of Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC), the headquarter based on Dharamsala, India. Since Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) advocates "Rangzen" (Independence), the fundamental right of the Tibetan people, the Congress does not subscribe to any particular political ideology, nor to any particular religion or “religious” sect. TYC is the largest and most active Non-government Organization in exiled Tibetan world with a strength of 75 chapters and over 20,000 members worldwide. Being a leading organization of Tibetan national movement, membership for Tibetan Youth Congress is always welcome and open to any bona fide Tibetan national; there is no discrimination on the basis age, sex and occupation. |
