1. Tsering Gyatso Chuteng

Interior Design & Interior Architecture

Tsering G. Chuteng has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and had volunteered as a junior engineer for the library extension project of Dolmaling Tibetan nunnery in Nepal. He is currently student chapter leader of IIDA (International Interior Design Association) of his school. He has committed to extend his expertise for TANC projects.

2. Tenzin Yangzom Subhar

MBA Finance and International Trade

Tenzin Yangzom Subhar has worked in the purchasing department at Ernest Gallo Clinic and research Center at the University of San Francisco as a Procurement Analyst. With her MBA in finance and international trade she hopes to work in the foreign investments and expansions of a company and also wants to help business entities understand the business models and strategies involved in foreign expansion and investment.

UNDERGRADUATE

3. Tenzin Seldon
Resident: Albany, CA
University: Stanford University
Major: International Relations and Asian American Studies

Tenzin Seldon was born and raised in Dharamsala, India. She has been an active member of the SF team Tibet. Her other passion is to serve the Tibetan community .She was the senator for the Associated Students of BCC. She implemented the “feed me financial aid” project to provide 5,000 students financial aid during the Peralta financial aid crisis. Tenzin hopes to contribute what she has learned throughout the years, to the Tibetan community and the world, at large.

4. Tenzin Nagdon

Major: Business Science

Tenzin Ngadon’s interests have always been related to medicine, human anatomy and physiology. She has been volunteering at the Tibetan Sunday school as a teacher assistant since September of 2008. With her nursing careers she hopes to experience meeting people with different backgrounds and cultures and help those in need.

5. Tsering Dhondup

Major: Business Management

Tsering Dhondup was born in India and did his schooling from India. With his band Pilgrim, he performed at ‘Rangzen Concert’ for SFT fund raising. He is passionate about advocating for Tibetan cause and peace through music. He is an active member of TANC and volunteer for community events.

6. Tenzin Wangmo Shakya
Berkeley, CA
San Francisco State University
Major: Journalism

Tenzin W. Shakya lives by the motto “Think global, act local”. She has volunteered with grass root organization like One Brick and interned with UNISEF, Berkeley, and American Red Cross. She is pursuing journalism and mass media with a mission to bring the issues of peace, security and human rights at the forefront. She is a media coordinator for San Francisco Regional Tibetan Youth Congress.

7. Tsering Samdol

Major: Nursing

Tsering Samdol’s interest in nursing springs from her personal commitment to serve the people in need.  She has been active member of TANC cultural program and community. She has volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul working with homeless people. She is passionate about advocating and serving community.

8. Norbu Dhonyoe

Major: Accounting

Norbu pursued his schooling from India and is currently pursuing Accounting. He never shies away from volunteering and believes in contributing back to his community. With his band, he performed various concerts to raise awareness and funds for Tibetan cause such as ‘Rangzen Concert’, 2008”. He is a proud recipient of 2007 Betsy Gordon Scholarship.

9. Tashi Choedon Choera

Major: Nursing

She came to United States at the age of nine and is currently in senior year at Dominican University. She credits her parents for their unrelenting support for her education. She is a recipient of 2007 BGF Scholarship. She has actively contributed to her community by volunteering for TANC and its various projects. Her goal is to join Peace Corps and travel to countries in need of medical assistance.

10.Tenzin Dolma Shakya

Major: Bio Chemistry and Molecular Biology

Tenzin Dolma Shakya was born in Nepal and went to Namgyal High School. She moved to United States in the year 2006. She has been an active member of the Tibetan dance group. She has always been interested in science and medical field. She hopes to make her parents proud by excelling in this career and performing well in school.

11. Tenzin Dickyi

Major: Paralegal Studies

Tenzin Dickyi came to United State at very young age and grew up in Bay Area as an active member of Tibetan community. Her ultimate goal is to attend a law school to master in International Law. She volunteered at Tibetan Solidarity Committee, Dharamsala, India. She is also a task force member of Tibetan Residential Quarter Project, led by the Office of Tibet, New York.

12. Ngawang Gyaltso
San Francisco
Oikos University
Major: Vocational Nursing

Ngawang Gyaltso was born in India and worked hard to earn his GED. He is enrolled in a nursing program and wants to be a registered nurse. Through his profession he wants to serve people with compassion.

13. Sonam Dorjee
Oakland, CA
California Culinary Academy
Major: Culinary Arts.

Sonam Dorjee was born in India and did his Hotel Management from Mangalore University. He worked at Oberoi Hotel. He served as a General Secretary of Tibetan Student Association of Mangalore. His goal is to become a chef and wants to serve his previous school in educating children in nutrition and diet.

14. Tenzin Jinpa

Major: Vocational Nurse

Tenzin Jinpa grew up in India; he believes coming to United States gave him a fresh start. He has worked as Certified Nursing Assistant and cares for and respects the elder people. He wants to be a professional nurse and support his large family.

15. Tenzin Choedon Tsewang

Major: Nursing

Tenzin Choedon did her schooling from India. Her strength is in science subjects like math, physics and chemistry. She teaches these subjects to high school students and enjoys teaching. Her aim is to become a professor in Nursing College.

16. Dhondup Lhamo

Major: Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Dhondup Lhamo came to United States in 2005. Her early experience in after school tutoring resolved her to volunteer at the after school program, as she sees herself in each student that needs help with their English and home work. She has committed her voluntary service at Tibetan Sunday school; Oakland Children Hospital. Her goal is to become a Doctor of Pharmacy. She has interned at Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals.

17. Tenzin Tsedup Wangdu

Major: Nursing

Tenzin Tsedup grew up in India; he drew inspiration from his parents in serving the Tibetan community. In the process of his commitment for Tibetan cause, he has transformed into an activist. He is an elected TANC executive member. He is pursuing nursing degree with the purpose of serving the patients with loving care and compassion.

18. Chhime Dolkar

Major: Finance

Chhime Dolkar is an active member of TANC and has volunteered for TANC activities. Her interests are finance and psychology. She a trained to advocate for battered women and will work at Asian Women Shelter.

19. Tashi Dorjee

Major: Nursing

Tashi Dorjee graduated from Tibetan Medical College, Dharamsala India. He worked at Men-Tsee-Khang Clinic at Pokhra and Kathmandu. He believes that Tibetan medicine has a huge potential benefits to alleviate human suffering. By pursuing nursing degree, he wants to offer the best of both fields to serve the patients. He is currently working at Tibetan Sunday School as a music teacher.

20. Tashi Topgyal Lama

His goal is to excel in business world and want to enroll in Hass School of Business, UC Berkeley. He wants to be a mediator across international boundaries. He is president of the soccer club in Berkeley City College.

21. Tenzin Nyima

Major: Computer Science

Tenzin Nyima was born in India and completed his schooling from Central School for Tibetans (CST), Mussooorie, 2003. With his friends he started Tibetan World Magazine and worked as Managing Director, and freelance writer. He came to United States in 2008 and is studying computer science with a goal of enrolling into four year college. He is a volunteer web designer of TANC.

22. Tenzin Tenzin

Major: Automotive Technician

Tenzin’s goal is to earn a master degree in automotive technical education and work for leading companies like Toyota and Honda. He is a member of TANC and San Francisco Regional Tibetan Youth Congress. He volunteers at Nechung Buddhist center.

23. Ngawang Gyatso

Ngawang Gyatso is a proud recipient of Betsy Gordon Foundation Scholarship, 2009. He is currently studying Business Economics. His goal is to get transfer to a four year school in Business Economics with concentration in accounting. He has volunteered for TANC activities.

24. Tenzin Nyendak Tsewang

Major: Bachelor of Arts

Tenzin Nyendak did his schooling from TCV Dharamsala and is currently pursuing BA degree with concentration on accounting. His goal is to be financial consultant and like to dedicate his service to Tibetan community. He has volunteered at TANC Sunday school and Gyuto Center, San Jose. He likes to play soccer and was on school soccer team.

25. Rigdol Palzom

Major: Cosmetology

Rigdol Palzom believes cosmetology is a creative art in making some one healthy and beautiful. She has worked in the field for eight years in India. Her goal is to open her own salon and provide job opportunity to other Tibetans.

26. Sonam Tsering Tuladhar

Major: Accounting

Sonam Tsering completed his schooling from Dr Graham’s Homes, Kalimpong India.  His interest is in accounting and wants to excel in the field. Was a member of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Kathmandu.  He is currently volunteering at TANC office every Friday.

27. Lhakpa Dolma

Major: Bachelor in Nursing

Lhakpa Dolma was born and completed her schooling from Bylakuppe India. She had worked as accountant at Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration and Office of Southern Tibetan Settlements, Bangalore. She wishes to serve community member directly in the medical field.
