We had spectacular weather the day we were there, lucky because the lake area is known to be cold and this year's monsoon was much heavier than usual. Local nomads told us that fast pilgrims take seven days to make a circumambulation of the lake, and that normal people take two weeks. We walked a couple of kilometers by the gravelly edge, then whiled away the afternoon chatting in the sun by the placid lake.
