Vast, cold, and sacred, Namtso is the second largest salt lake in Tibet, and it is lined by these symbolic offerings to the Gods at the water's edge. We stayed at Tashi Do, a dilapidated huddle of tents and shacks serving as guesthouses huddled under a huge, lonely outcrop of rocks and caves that used to house hermit monks.
