| A Woman from Kham
Our visit to Lhasa, like most everyone else's, was a whirlwind of prayer circuits, hussling with hundreds of pilgrims through the chapels of the great monasteries, calmed by the drone of prayers and the quiet piety in the obscure rooms lit only by butter lamps and the gleam of statues. We encountered this lady from Eastern Tibet on the steps of one of Sera Monastery's chapels. She's wearing her wealth, as is common, in her jewels, and swinging a prayer wheel. |
