| Young Woman at Ramoche Temple
On any given day, we would wander around the alleys near the Barkhor and often end up down the road a bit at Ramoche, another of Lhasa's main temples, though with less of a human crush than the Jokhang. Pilgrims from all over Tibet and the people of Lhasa spend huge amounts of time in and near the temples, praying, circumambulating, lighting butter lamps, buying or selling incense which they light in chortens by the smoky, fragrant temple entrances, spinning their own prayer wheels, spinning the larger wheels that often line the temple or monastery walls. This lady was one of the many just present there that day, praying. |
