Typical Lhasa Courtyard
This building near the Barkhor is in a typical courtyard style. The residents have been told that the building, like many others, will be demolished and rebuilt. Currently, the rents are very low, but when the new building is complete, the cost of buying or renting a unit increases significantly. We talked to one man who owned an apartment that was demolished and was forced to re-purchase the new apartment, despite having deeds for his old home. |
